Welcome Twin Oaks Families, to the 2023-24 school year! We are excited to launch the new
school year and welcome our students back to school on Tuesday, August 15th.
This school year we are happy to announce that Twin Oaks Elementary has been selected as
one of five priority schools to receive general education transportation for our students. To see
if your child is eligible for transportation, you may visit the Transportation Department on
www.SMUSD.org for the transportation application and more information.
Transportation at Twin Oaks means a change in our arrival and dismissal procedures. This
year, the main parking lot loop will be dedicated to buses only. Buses will arrive multiple times
in the morning between 8:15 and 8:45am. Bus riders will exit the bus and walk onto campus
through the main gate between the front office and Multi-Purpose Room. Breakfast is
available to all students starting at 8:15am. For dismissal, bus riders will exit the main gate and
will line up to load into buses parked in the main parking lot loop.
New Arrival Procedures
Parents who drive their children to school will enter the driveway on Twin Oaks Valley Road
and pull forward along the Kindergarten loop for student drop off.
● TK students will enter campus through the back parking lot loop into the TK parking lot.
● Kindergarten students will enter through the Kindergarten playground gate.
● 1st-5th grade students will enter campus through the side gate between the front office
and the Kindergarten building.
Parents are welcome to walk their children to the gate. You may park in the rear of the school,
along Cassou Road or at the Agricultural Farm. Parents may not leave their car at any time in
the loop in order to keep the flow of traffic moving forward. If your child (TK/K) needs
assistance getting out of the car, you must wait until you can pull all the way forward to the
end of the loop so that you may assist your child quickly without holding up traffic.
New Dismissal Procedures
All students will be dismissed from the Kindergarten Loop with the exception of bus riders.
Parents picking up their will enter the driveway on Twin Oaks Valley Road and pull forward
along the Kindergarten loop to pick up your child(ren). Please pull all the way forward and your
child(ren) will walk to your car. Staff members will be present to assist with dismissal. Cars will
be directed to turn right out of the driveway to follow Cassou Rd and exit on Olive St. This
allows many cars to exit the loop and eases congestion at the Twin Oaks Valley Rd light.
We will continue to send information out regarding changes to our procedures. We ask for
your patience as arrival and dismissal the first week of school takes longer than usual until
students and parents learn the routines.

¡Bienvenidas familias de Twin Oaks al año escolar 2023-24! Estamos entusiasmados de lanzar el
nuevo año escolar y dar la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes el martes 15 de agosto.
Este año escolar nos complace anunciar que Twin Oaks ha sido seleccionada como una de cinco
escuelas prioritarias para recibir transporte para nuestros estudiantes de educación general.

www.SMUSD.org para obtener la solicitud de transporte y obtener más información.
El transporte en Twin Oaks significa un cambio en nuestros procedimientos de llegada y salida.
Este año, el estacionamiento principal en frente de la escuela estará dedicado únicamente a los
autobuses. Los autobuses llegarán varias veces por la mañana entre las 8:15 y las 8:45 a. m. Los
pasajeros del autobús saldrán del autobús, caminarán hacia la escuela y entraran por la puerta
principal entre la oficina y el Auditorio. El desayuno está disponible para todos los estudiantes a
partir de las 8:15 am. Para la salida, los pasajeros del autobús saldrán por la puerta principal y
formarán fila para subirse a los autobuses estacionados en la banqueta del estacionamiento
principal.
Procedimientos nuevos de llegada
Los padres que manejan a sus hijos a la escuela entrarán por la entrada de Twin Oaks Valley
Road y avanzarán a lo largo de la banqueta de Kindergarten para dejar a los estudiantes.
● Los estudiantes de TK ingresarán al plantel a través de la banqueta de estacionamiento
trasero hacia el estacionamiento de TK.
● Los estudiantes de kínder entrarán por la puerta del patio de recreo de kínder.
● Los estudiantes de 1° a 5° grado entrarán a la escuela a través de la puerta entre la oficina
principal y el edificio de kínder.
Los padres son bienvenidos a caminar con sus hijos hasta la puerta de entrada. Puede
estacionar en la parte trasera de la escuela, a lo largo de Cassou Road o en la Granja Agrícola.
Los padres no pueden dejar su automóvil en ningún momento en la banqueta para mantener el
flujo de tráfico avanzando. Si su hijo (TK/K) necesita ayuda para salir del automóvil, debe esperar
hasta que pueda avanzar hasta el final de la banqueta para poder ayudar a su hijo rápidamente
sin detener el tráfico.
Procedimientos nuevos de despido
Todos los estudiantes saldrán por la banqueta de Kindergarten con la excepción de los pasajeros
del autobús. Los padres que recojan sus hijos entrarán por la entrada en Twin Oaks Valley Road y
avanzarán a lo largo de la banqueta de Kindergarten para recoger a su(s) hijo(s). Avanzarán
completamente y su(s) hijo(s) caminarán hacia su automóvil. Estarán presentes empleados de
TOES para ayudar con el despido. Se indicará a los automóviles que giren a la derecha en
Cassou Rd hacia Olive St. Esto permite que los automóviles salgan y alivien la congestión en el
semáforo de Twin Oaks Valley Rd.
Continuaremos enviando información sobre cambios en nuestros procedimientos. Le pedimos
paciencia ya que la llegada y salida de la primera semana de clases toma más tiempo de lo
típico hasta que los estudiantes y los padres aprendan las rutinas.
